PCGS grading

How do I submit my coin to PCGS to be graded? I am not a member or anything. Can i take it to a local coin shop and have it done, or do I have to join, or what?

You need to find a an authorized dealer. Otherwise you join to be a member to do your own submissions. Many coin shops or B&M shops are authorized dealers and you can have them submit the coins for you. Before I joined I used to piggyback on my friends submissions. NGC is similar that you need to join or become a ANA member or find a dealer.

How much does it cost to send in a coin? Is there a standard price or does it depend on the coin?

I am asking because I want to submit my UHR and maybe my 8-8-08 set.

Thanks.

I really like the clear view holders that ANACS is using. If you have any Lincoln cents or silver dollars to grade, ANACS is running a special promotion on these through the middle of March.

ICG seems to be gaining favor too, although I havent used them nor bought many of their coins.

Me too! I like the following order:

1- PCGS (for BUYING- although I would not send them anything because of the way they messed me over)
2- NGC (for buying and sending them)
3- ANACS - (for buying and sending them)
4- ICG - (for buying and sending them)

Sorry, but that's about it.

I agree, ANACS has the best holders. I like the way they curve the top back and put the coin info so you can see it from above in a box without having to pull each slab out to see which coin it is.
